Welcome to Uganda and welcome to your safari! It all begins here in Entebbe.

Entebbe is the main air gateway to Uganda. It stands on the lush northern shore of Lake Victoria – the world's second-largest freshwater body – only an hour’s drive south of the capital Kampala. It's a very relaxed and low-rise city, offering a good choice of lakeshore restaurants, abundant greenery, and some of the best urban bird watching anywhere in Uganda.

Relax at your lodge in the morning and join the Shoebill Boat Safari in the afternoon.

Shoebill Boat- Mabamba Swamps
Our Boat Guide will pick you at the Lodge of your choice shortly before 1 pm. When you reach the boat, it takes you over the Lake to Mabamba Swamps, a Ramsar wetland whose unique bird life includes the eagerly sought after Shoebill. Please apply enough sun lotion- very important, come with a rain poncho in your back pack and wear a hat. Clothes can be leisure, like shorts and sandals depending on temperatures. Use the toilet before you start! The boat trip takes 3-4 hours.

The thrilling opportunity to track rhinos on foot is the main attraction of Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch, a non-profit organization that protects 7,000ha of dense African bush also inhabited by a wide variety of antelope, small mammals and birds. Its not only Rhinos now in Ziwa but also animals like Zebras, Giraffes and Antelopes.

Day 6 Hoima

Chosen as the capital of King Kabalega of Bunyoro in the 1870s, Hoima is now one of the fastest growing towns in Uganda, thanks in large part to the discovery of vast oil reserves below the nearby shore of Lake Albert.

Day 7 & 8 Kibale National Park

Kibale National Park is one of Africa’s most spectacular tropical rainforests and the primate capital of East Africa. Renowned for its exceptional chimpanzee tracking, the park is home to over 1,500 chimpanzees and 13 species of primates, including red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and grey-cheeked mangabeys. Guided walks through the lush forest offer the chance to encounter these remarkable animals in their natural habitat while enjoying the park’s rich bird-life, butterflies, and diverse plant life. With its incredible biodiversity and unforgettable wildlife encounters, Kibale National Park is a true highlight of any Ugandan safari.

Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary
is a must visit. A 4,5km long walk will take you through this important wildlife corridor of Kibale Forest and will take up to 3hours. It is rich in biodiversity and scenic beauty, and “Home of the Great Blue Turaco” a real bird watcher’s paradise. This wonderful place shelters over 200 species of birds including Hornbills, Turacos, Parrots, Cranes, Kingfishers and many more swamp endemics. Furthermore, the sanctuary is the home of 8 species of primates, including the Black and White Colobus, Red Colobus, Red Tailed Monkey, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Olive Baboon, L’hoest Monkey, Vervet Monkey and the Blue Monkey.

Today you have an option of visit the Banana man for Banana gin experience, or go for a coffee experience and witness the entire process of how local coffee is made-from garden to cup or visit the basket weaving women or do all of them because each activity takes like 30 or 40 mins.

Day 9 & 10

Day 9 & 10 Queen Elizabeth National Park

Set on the Rift Valley floor in view of the snow-capped Rwenzori peaks, Queen Elizabeth National Park offers plenty of variety to safarigoers. On the Kasenyi and Ishasha Plains, large herds of Uganda kob, the national antelope, stand on constant guard for the lions that feed on them. Lakes Edward and George, together with the connecting Kazinga Channel, support around 5,000 hippos and an abundance of waterbirds, as well as being a magnet for thirsty elephant and buffalo herds.

Often referred to as the “Place of Many Little Birds,” the lake offers a peaceful escape where you can enjoy a relaxing boat cruise, discover its rich local history, and take in the spectacular scenery. Its calm atmosphere makes it the perfect place to unwind after the adventure of gorilla trekking.

We head out by boat onto Bunyonyi to visit some of its 20-odd islands and enjoy the lovely views across the water to steep terraced slopes that enclose the lake.

Mpambire village in Mpigi District, Uganda, is the famous cultural hub and birthplace for traditional drum making, widely known for housing the traditional royal drum makers. Artisans here use hollowed tree trunks and natural animal skins to handcraft authentic ceremonial and musical drums. You can pass by this place and experience some drumming.
